On Monday, 20 June, Jens Habermann, Director General of BBMRI-ERIC, and Jana Pavlič-Zupanc, Head of Public Affairs, had the pleasure to host the Slovenian National Node team led by Prof. Urban Bren from University of Maribor in the view of strenghtening collaborations within the biobanking network.
“The visit of the Slovenian National Node BBMRI.si to the BBMRI-ERIC Headquarters in Graz was very useful. We streamlined our activities on setting up two institutional biobanks at Medical Faculties of University of Maribor and of University of Ljubljana. Moreover, the further steps of our IT onboarding process were discussed. It was indeed great that, despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, a live on-site visit was possible” said Prof. Bren.
At this opportunity the Slovenian delegation also visited Biobank Graz.
BBMRI.si was established in 2020 as a consortium of all public universities in Slovenia, including the University of Maribor, University of Ljubljana, University of Primorska, and the University Medical Centre Maribor.
Slovenia was officially approved as a Member of BBMRI-ERIC on 19 November 2021 as the 24th Member of our infrastructure.
