On September 13, 2019, the Medical University of Graz organized its first TEDx event.
Speakers included BBMRI-ERIC Director General Erik Steinfelder, as well as Kurt Zatloukal, head of the Austrian Node BBMRI.at.
The event took place in the auditorium of the Universalmuseum Joanneum, and the theme was Think Creative! Be Innovative!
Erik Steinfelder spoke about the impact of innovation on our lives, and whether all the hype surround future innovations makes us blind the resources around us that are available to solve problems right now on this planet. View his TEDx talk here!
Later in the afternoon, Kurt Zatloukal asked why we need Artificial Intelligence in medicine.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are brandedTEDx, where x = independently organized TED events. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).
