CORBEL – Coordinated Research Infrastructures Building Enduring Life-science services – is a Horizon2020 project uniting 13 European Biological and Medical Science Research Infrastructures (RIs), BBMRI-ERIC being one of them. CORBEL aims to harmonise access to the resources offered by these RIs, joining their various expertise across the range of life science disciplines. This is of particular relevance for advanced interdisciplinary research projects: they often rely on a variety of different technologies and services and face the challenge that resources are not always easily available. European scientists now have the chance to accelerate their research with CORBEL support – by applying to the current Open Call for research projects!
Via the Open Call, CORBEL invites European academic and industrial researchers to apply to access high-end technologies and services offered by more than 20 facilities from 10 RIs across Europe. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to access multiple RIs with just one application and to benefit from their state-of-the-art offers from the fields of advanced imaging, biobanking, clinical and translational research, curated databases, marine model organisms, mouse mutant phenotyping, high-throughput screening, structural biology as well as systems biology.
Learn more about the CORBEL Open Call by visiting our website. In the success stories, scientists talk about how their research could benefit from access to multiple RIs. They successfully applied to the 1st CORBEL Open Call in 2016, in which above 50 % of the applications were accepted. The current 2nd Open Call has a rolling deadline, collecting applications at the 1st of every 2nd month. The current submission round will close on October 31, 2018.
The Open Call is explicitly also addressed at industrial scientists in order to advance their R&D projects! Separate information concerning application from industry is now available on the CORBEL Open Call website.
