Swiss Biobanking Platform launches consultation on Biobank Regulation and MTA templates

In its mission to help biobanks comply with applicable standards, SBP will soon provide them with templates to support them in their efforts to build strong governance.

As the main users, you get the opportunity to review these two templates. Please take the chance to comment before they are published.

The Biobank Regulation defines a biobank’s purpose, activities, and the way it is organised. Beyond compliance with legal requirements and ethical/professional standards, the Regulation promotes transparency, enhancing public trust in research.

The Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) defines the transfer and use of human biological material and associated data for research purposes. The MTA should be made available by a provider to a non-profit third party wishing to use this research material and data for its own research.
