The Drafting Group met for the second time face to face on 22-23 November 2017 in Paris. The aim of the meeting was to first and foremost to share findings and further discuss key issues in the context of the GDPR that required clarification and that had been identified during previous telephone conferences. Topics included the role and responsibilities of data controllers and data sponsors, informed consent, the right of data subjects and research exemptions.
Shortly after the next meeting in January 2018, a first draft will be presented to the Code of Conduct Forum for comments.
The input we will receive will allow further refinement of the content. An elaborated version will be published and opened for public consultation in late spring 2018. We especially invite comments from delegates representing the relevant committees, working parties and networks, international organisations and academic institutions. If you want to join the Forum, sign up here.
Please expect further specifications on how to comment and get involved in January. In the meantime, you can learn more here.
